Western Asia

Western AsiaWest AsiaSouthwestern Asia or Southwest Asia is the westernmost sub-region of Asia.



         The countries that include in Western Asia are Cyprus, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, at Yemen. Western Asia's major industry is Petroleum, as more than half of the world's oil reserves and around 40 percent of the world's natural gas reserves are located in the region.

        Western Asia is primarily arid and semi-arid, and can be subject to drought, but it also contains vast expanses of forest and fertile valleys. The region consists of grasslandsrange landsdeserts, and mountainsWater shortages are a problem in many parts of West Asia, with rapidly growing populations increasing demands for water, while salinization and pollution threaten water supplies. 

        Western Asia may be very dry and hot, but it can offer a lot of beautiful places and UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) sites...

      The Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem

      The Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem is located in the medieval citadel known as the Tower of David, near the Jaffa Gate, the historic entrance to the Old City. The Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem was opened in 1989 by the Jerusalem Foundation. Located in a series of chambers in the original citadel, the museum includes a courtyard which contains archaeological ruins dating back 2,700 years.

         The city of Petra, capital of the Nabataean Arabs, is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world and it is a UNESCO site. One of its most recognized tourist site is Al Khazna (pictured above). It is a Treasury that is almost 40 feet high and Although the original function is still a mystery, The Treasury was probably constructed in the 1st century BC.

South Asia

South Asia  (or  Southern Asia ) is the southern part of the continent of Asia. There are 8 countries in this region. It is surrounded by (clockwise)  West Asia ,  Central Asia ,  Eastern Asia ,  Southeastern Asia  and the Indian Ocean.         Major countries in this part of the world are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. South Asia's main industry is Agriculture. They plant crops like Soybeans, Cotton and etc.           South Asia is largely divided into four broad climate zones. Central Asia  stretches from the  Caspian Sea  in the west to  China  in the east and from  Afghanistan  in the south to  Russia  in the north. It is also colloquially referred to as "the stans" as the countries generally considered to be within the region all have names ending with the  Persian  s uffix " -stan ", meaning "land of".         The  region  consists of the former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan,  Turkmenistan , and  Uzbekistan . Central Asia has a lot of industries like Cotton Industry, Oil Industry and Mining Industry.
